    Room renovations and transformations

I can help repurpose spaces to suit your need, building partitions, plastering, decorating and arranging tradesmen as required.

Converting an unused space into a laundry

Before: The room was disused, and in a state of disrepair with crumbling plaster, failing skirting boards and exposed floorboards.
During: The room was skimmed, and new partitions were built to create sections for hanging clothes and shelving.
After:The room was decorated, and a new engineered oak floor was installed. Transforming a dilapidated space into a bright and useful utility area.

    Your project

Larger projects often require multiple trades to see through to completion. I can arrange any additional work on your behalf, ensuring it is completed to a high standard.

You may want to change your old handle for cosmetic reasons, because it has become damaged, stiff or deformed over time. • Wall-mounted TVs

    Wall-mounted TVs

TVs are expensive, so don’t cut corners with how they’re mounted to your wall! I’m experienced in hanging TVs on solid walls and timber stud construction and can offer a variety of solutions depending on your placement needs.

I can quote for jobs including hardware or work with what you provide – though it’s essential you find a mount which is rated to carry the weight of your TV.

  • Worktop restoration

    Worktop restoration

Sanding and oiling a worktop can be a considerable amount of work! It also means the kitchen can be out-of-action for a period while the oil cures and penetrates into the surface of the worktop. The process involves sanding or stripping any existing finish back to bare wood, refining the surface with finer grit sandpaper and applying a finish of your choice to the now unfinished worktop.

Although it might be more time consuming, it can sometimes be worth doing the work in stages so that some worktop area is always functional. Get in touch to discuss your needs and we can work on a timeline that suits you.

  • DIY on ladders

    DIY on ladders

Don’t be a hero! If you’re uncomfortable at heights you’re not alone. No home improvement is ever worth a trip to the hospital.

I’m insured to work at height, and I’m comfortable working up to the ceilings of almost any domestic property – so let me change your curtains or paint your ceiling while you get on with the work that needs done at ground level.

Some jobs, like plastering a high ceiling in a large room, may benefit from a small internal scaffolding setup. Should this be the case, I can arrange for an external supplier to built a sturdy base for the work to be done.

  • Flat-pack furniture

    Flat-pack furniture

If you don’t like fiddling with tiny allen keys, dropping dowels, or deciphering incoherent instructions then it may be time to consider a furniture assembling service.

I’ll quickly turn your cardboard boxes into your stylish new chair or comfortable double bed, and when I leave I’ll take all that packaging with me, so you don’t need to arrange a trip to the skip or squash them down the back of your wheelie bin!

Each assembly starts with a careful stock check of the included components, so you can return anything with parts missing before work begins. If your product needs to go back to the supplier because something is missing we can reschedule with no additional charge.
